Movie Review: Fabulous fun for everyone

I remembered this movie from my childhood. For years faded visions of baby swimmers,whale families and great mansions stuck in the back of my mind. For a while I thought it was just a dream but recently,during a conversation with my mother I mentioned it and she remembered it as "The Water Babies". Unfortunately I have been unsucessful tracking it down in my area, However, I recently found and ordered a copy from amazon.com and are eagerly awaiting its arrival! This is a wonderful film and I would highly suggest it to anyone looking for a bit of childhood magic.Movie Review: Great Fun!

I rented "The Water Babies" repeatedly when I was younger, and it was always one of my favorite movies. Unfortunately, when I got older and went looking for a bit of nostalgia, the film was nowhere to be found. Thankfully, I managed to locate a copy yesterday, and it's just as wonderful as I remembered. It's a wonderful fantasy film for children, with catchy songs that they'll probably be repeating for years.Movie Review: I loved this movie.

This movie draws inspiration from many sources...Charles Dickens, Walt Disney animation, The Wizard of Oz, and even Monty Python! It starts out with the young boy "Thomas Aquinas" who is an orphan, and who works for a burglar who uses a chimney sweep business as a front. The boy is caught in the act, but not before he becomes enchanted with the little girl who lives in the big mansion he is robbing. He is chased through the woods until he comes to a lake. With nowhere left to go, he jumps into the lake. Surprisingly enough, he is able to breathe under the water. This is when the movie turns to animation. He is met by the denizens of the under water world - the Water Babies. The Water Babies are under attack, and Thomas helps them. The challenge is then to return Thomas to dry land, where he still might face punishment for a crime he didn't want to commit. The ending has a nice twist to it, but I don't want to give it away...
This story will definitely stimulate your childs imagination, and is a great movie for the whole family to watch together.
Movie Review: Don't Remember the story but the songs...

I saw this movie when I was like eight years old and that was so long ago! I remember vaguely a dirty little boy going on a undersea adventure. And let me tell you every so often a few lines of the water baby song and that silly traveling 'hey hey we're on our way' creep into my head. It is a funny thing, the way the mind works and fills with useless information.
