Movie Review: GOod
Summary: 4 Stars
WrestleMaina IV featured a one night tournament to crown a new world champion. Here are the results and my thoughts of the matches
20-Man Battle Royal: A decent match but nothing to exciting. I did like the ending though.
Round One
"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan VS Ted DiBiase: Love DiBiase, he was a great wrestler. The match was decent but short. The ending was stupid, as is many on this event.
Dino Bravo VS Don "The Rock" Muraco: Skip; anther lame ending
Rick Steamboat VS Greg "The Hammer Valentine: A good match and I liked the ending.
Randy Savage VS Butch Reed: Almost a squash match; Good to see Savage in action.
Bam Bam Bigelow VS One Man Gang: This started out as a great match and anther very stupid ending. Would have liked to see a clean finish here.
Rick Rude VS Jake Roberts: A decent time limit draw match. End of round one.
Hercules VS Ultimate Warrior: Two of the worst wrestlers in WWE history go at it. Warrior wins of course.
Round Two begins with the much hyped Hogan VS Andre match. Very dull match, even though the video before it was a good build up. Hogan uses a chair on Andre and should have been called for a DQ, Andre uses a chair and its called a double DQ. One of the worst endings to a match ive ever seen. Too see Hogan out of the tournament would have been a shocker back in the day.
DiBiase VS Muraco: A good match.
Savage VS Valentine: I really like both wrestlers, and they put on a good but short match.
Brutus Beefcake battles Honky Tonk Man for the intercontinental championship next. Decent match but of course, the ending sucked. Seemed to be the theme in this show alot.
Islanders and Heenan VS The Bulldogs and Koko B. Ware: Fun match but I could have been without Heenan. What was the worse part? The ending of course.
Savage VS Gang in round three next. Could have been an excellent match but wasted on a DQ ending. This tournament really stinks.
Demoltion VS WWF Tag Team Champions Strike Force: Demoltion was a good rip off of LOD. Plus, WWE back then had a tag team division to be proud of. A good match.
The Finals of the title: Savage battled DiBiase. Too bad DiBiase wasnt given the gold but then again, alot of people were held back in the 80's and 90's. A good match but could have been better.
Overall, not the worst WrestleMania of all time. Alot of matches were short and I hated alot of the endings. Just think about WWE in the 80's, it wasnt like today. If they held a tournament at WrestleMaina now, it would be a all star event and the matches would be off the charts. A good WresleMaina but not one of the best.
