Movie Review: I finally found it !!!

This version of The Secret Garden has always been my favorite. I've looked for it in stores for years and never found it. I actually thought it may be out of print, then happened upon it here. I immediately purchased it so I can watch it again, whenever I want to. It was in great condition, at a great price too! WHOO HOOO!Movie Review: Weird experience, but love the movie!

I was in the mood to see this movie again and was super excited for its arrival. I took off the plastic and put the DVD in without looking at it. When I turned it on, the menu for "A Little Princess" was on my screen. The wrong DVD was actually in the "The Secret Garden" box, wrapped in plastic and everything. I was able to send it back and have it replaced. However, it was a lot of inconvenience for an inexpensive movie I could have bought at Wal-Mart.Movie Review: Beautiful music, garden scenery, and message, ultimately.

Always a favorite of mine, The Secret Garden is an enriching tale about turning loss and sorrow into gratitude and love. Recent orphan Mary Lennox is uprooted from her home in India and sent to live with her uncle in a faraway mansion (seemingly in Britain). When she arrives, instead of being greeted by a warm, loving family, she is met by a cold housekeeper with a dislike for children. Her uncle keeps to himself, still mourning the loss of his wife, who died ten years previously.
As Mary tries to belong in a household of scuttling servants, she explores her own identity and feelings, which is new for her, having never cried before. The turning point comes when she gets the courage to ask her uncle "for a little bit of earth."
This movie really captures the emotions of pride, humility, fear, curiousity and happiness. It was one of those "comfort movies" I would watch as a young girl when I was sick. Beautiful music, garden scenery, and message, ultimately.
Movie Review: A wonderful rendition of the Secret Garden!

I love this movie so much, that I just bought it for a friend of mine. My copy is so old its in VHS. This edition of the Secret Garden has an artistic spin on a classic tale. The scenes in the Garden are beautiful, as are all the scenes in the area of Mistlethwaite Manor, and the music is fitting for all scenes.
Shopping on Amazon.com, this movie was easy to find and reasonably priced.
