VHS Movie Reviews of The Night Dracula Saved the World (aka The Halloween That Almost Wasn't) [VHS]Movie Review: A truly classic halloween movie.... Summary: 5 StarsAlthough this movie was low budget and the special effects are a little bit corny and unrealistic it is still a good movie. Judd Hirsch is simply amazing as Count Dracula and Henry Gibson is hilarious as dracula's assistant Igor. John Shuck is wonderful as the Frankenstein monster and Mariette Hartley plays the part of the witch so wickedly. This is definitely a halloween movie that should be watched by the entire family.
Movie Review: Remember the Halloween Special?!!! Summary: 5 StarsChristmas Specials are fairly common, but there was a time when Halloween Specials were common too! This is one of those specials(better known as "The Halloween That Almost Wasn't")! I'm so happy to have found it on video and can't wait to order it in time for next Halloween! I haven't seen it since I was a kid! If my memory serves me right, here's the story. All the famous monsters, Dracula, Wolfman, etc...are worried that there won't be a Halloween this year. The reason is that the Witch has lost the Halloween spirit, and doesn't want to make her anual broomstick flight across the moon! Dracula and the monsters get together to try and convince the witch how important she is to the children of the world! There's a very "Love at first Bite, for kids" feeling to the whole thing, which makes it that much more enjoyable! If you love Halloween and tend to be saddened by the fact that there seem to be very few specials for the Holiday, you need to pick this one up! Also pick of the version of The Worst Witch that stars Fairuza Balk. It's sort of a low, low budget Harry Potter! Ha ha! And don't forget Disney's Masterpieces, Hocus Pocus and the Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, and Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow! Happy Halloween!
