Beautiful movie from an entertaining book. Too bad it's on tape.
The only problem with this film is that it is only available on VHS tape. I wish someone like Criterion Collection would give this film the same treatment as their Kurosawa DVDs.
As soon as this is out on dvd, I'm buying it. Being b&w the snow is well captured by mizoguchi in a film as pretty as its story.
