VHS Movie Reviews of Sailor Moon Super S The Movie - Black Dream Hole

Movie Review: Its No Sailor Moon R
Summary: 3 Stars

this is my least favorite of the sailor moon movies. to sum it all up for you, an evil woman has enlisted the aid of dream fairy's (or something like that) to help her lure children into eternal sleep in order to make her black dream hole grow. however one of the dream fairies changes his mind and befriends renee. but the queen gets renee anyway and the scouts go up against her in her space castle and a battle insues. all the scouts except for saturn and their attack sequences are beautiful. the one bonus to this is that the art does beat out that of the other two. beautiful animation. just a lack-luster story.

Movie Review: My First Sailor Moon Movie Ever...
Summary: 5 Stars

I just rented this movie from the local video store and I sat down and watched it. It was the first Sailor Moon movie I'd ever seen-and I think I will be renting the other ones too. One day I went to my cousin's house and we went to a Graphics site on the internet. My cousin(Who hates Sailor Moon) heard the song playing on the site, and he said it sounded like Sailor Moon. Then and there I remembered the show. It had been so long that I had seen it that I forgot all about it. I really like the theme song to the popular tv show so I eventually got hooked to it. I started drawing pictures of Sailor Moon a lot and I just reanted the movie to see what it was about. I would recomend this movie to kids 7 and up because sometimes I think that little kids might not understand the concept and plot of the movie. It can be confusing, but now that I watched it it seemed babyish. But this movie is still very fun to watch.

Movie Review: Left A Lot To Be Desired
Summary: 4 Stars

This movie is just barely four stars, in my opinion. I felt this movie just wasn't as good as the two others.

First of all, Tuxedo Mask is injured during the beginning of the movie, so not only is he unable to fight in the rest of the movie, but they never show his full recovery in the end! Of course, everyone knows he's okay, but still.

Second, this isn't really a con, but I just HAD to point it out. Has anyone else noticed the humor in one of Badiyanu's henchman's name, Poo Poo Lan? I personally think they could have come up with a better name then that, but it still adds some comedy where there is none.

Lastly, I just think the whole subject, although cute, was kind of boring and childish. It lacked a tad more fighting, and excitement. I would recommend Sailor Moon S - The Movie over this one.

CAUTION: Not all Sailor Moon products are clean. I'm just warning parents that are looking into Sailor Moon for their younger children, you're making a big mistake! I think the youngest a kid should be to be allowed to read/watch Sailor Moon is twelve, maybe thirteen...depends on the kid.

Movie Review: In the Middle
Summary: 3 Stars

Although this movie included all the scouts (With the exception of Sailor Saturn), and a cute "sweeter then candy" theme, I found it to be rather disappointing. First of all, Darien was injured near the beginning of the movie, and even though everyone knows he's okay, they never showed his complete recovery in the end. I also think his injury was not only to pull emotions out of the viewers, but to keep him out of the story, and that's not fair! Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask's love for one another is one of the best parts of Sailor Moon! Also, it was disappointing that Sailor Moon was the only scout who fought in the final battle. Sure, the other scouts helped, but not in the way desired. Finally, I have to point out the hilariousness of one of Badiyanu's henchman's names. Poo Poo Lan? Could they not come up with a better name than that? Anyway, I would recommend Sailor Moon S: Hearts In Ice over this movie. It is the best of the three Sailor Moon movies, in my opinion.

Also, I would advise Sailor Moon fans to look into Mew Mew Power (Tokyo Mew Mew). It is slightly similar to Sailor Moon, and unbelievably cute!
