First, I have to admit I have been a fan of Disney's original animations for years. I owned videos/DVD's of most of the early features. When I saw that Robin Hood was coming out, I preordered. Here's why: Roger Miller, Phil Harris, Peter Ustinov and the myriad of voices long since lost; the lyrics of Johnny Mercer for "Phony King" (Savannah's own!) are great. While the voices of Robin and Marian are not as familiar (at least not to me) they capture the `humanity' of the foxes.
I saw this film in the theater when it originally came out. I had already purchased the video but I got the DVD for the extra features and the restoration. Even on my old TV the picture is clear and the colors bright. I just wish I had a better sound system with which to enjoy the music.
I viewed the alternative ending as well. Somehow, I think it would have been more interesting had it been used. It really showed King John (Mommy!) for what he really is.
All in all, I was not disappointed.

A sweet movie fit for people young and old! There are three reasons I love this movie.
First: The animation is AWESOME! The characters all have funny expressions when they're supposed to.
Second: The story is great and easy for all youngsters to understand.
Third: This movie is HILARIOUS! I LOVE it when Prince John hits Sir Hiss with a small wooden plank! Also Recommended: Fox and the Hound 2, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars Episode 3, and Barnyard the Movie.
