VHS Movie Reviews of Reanimator [VHS]Movie Review: Re-Animator: Special Edition Summary: 5 StarsThe latest release of "Re-animator" does actually contain elements of previous releases, stemming back to its initial laser-disc, extra-laden presentation in the 1990s.
What is fetching in this latest release is a very comprehensive documentary, which subtly conveys Stuart Gordon's expertise as a director. Additionally, the transfer looks grander (and gorier) than ever before, and the unqiue packaging should be enticing to any horror-movie collector.
Indeed, if one has never purchased "Re-animator" before on DVD (or VHS/Laser Disc), this edition will prove quite mind-blowing. For those who have purchased the movie before (or who have simply viewed it many times over in the past), there is still enough new fringe offerings to make this entry a glorious catch, especially if one can obtain the highlighter/syringe collectible as part of the packaging.
"Re-animator" is an indisputable classic, and this particular special-edition is the ultimate to possess to date.
Movie Review: humour, yet gorey! Summary: 4 StarsYet another horror fim of the old theme, but quite well produced in this instant.
Movie Review: One of the best, PERIOD. Summary: 5 StarsThey just don't make them like this anymore. This movie belongs in every REAL horror fans collection. The special effects are outrageous, very well done, and Jeffrey combs gives a great performance as well as the rest of the cast. I have "bride" but haven't watched it yet and I cant wait. Good movie to watch around Halloween.
Movie Review: well done, boys! Summary: 4 StarsAwesome release, interesting bonus matherials and nice marker inside. Bravo, Anchor Bay!
Movie Review: The Highest of High Camp Summary: 5 StarsExcellent gross effects. Over the top story and acting. Anyone who even remotely likes zombie/slasher films has to see this. There is at least one moment that is as cinematically significant as the final scene of Pink Flamingos. The Lovecraft purists will have a problem with the deviations from the original book. But the film is so good and so much fun that you have to give it a shot. And the Anchor Bay release has good features. Thanks to them for giving us back this classic.
