Movie Review: Re-Animator With Documentary is Great!

The added bonuses included with this version of Re-Animator are worth the price of admission! The 70 plus documentary "Re-Animator Ressurectus" was excellently put together and includes almost entirely new never before seen shots of storyboards, behind the scenes stills and of course interviews with nearly the entire team that made this film.
I can state that this is the real deal! I'm part of that team and this is the first look back at Re-Animator that got it right!

We had seen this movie many years ago and couldn't pass up the deal.
The box it came in is pretty hokey but it's still a good movie and holds up over time.

Stuart Gordon's hilariously campy gore-fest is loosely based on a story by H.P. Lovecraft, but draws heavily on old-fashioned horror like "Frankenstein" and George Romero's zombie flicks. Combs gives his Herbert just the right mix of nerdy gravitas and lunatic ambition, while Gale vamps it up as a jealous prof who literally loses his head over his student's potion, only to commit a foul act with the dean's daughter, played by comely Barbara Crampton. Things get grisly when bone-saws are marshalled to quell the violent, re-animated cadavers, but it's all in good fun. Like a version of "Night of the Living Dead" directed by the staff of Mad Magazine, "Re-Animator" will keep you in stitches.Movie Review: 3.5 stars

This student guy is kicked out of his university. Then he goes to another university and he starts workin in the morgue and moves in with another student and his girlfriend and he starts doin experiments with the cat. He think he found some kind of formula for the re animation of corpses. The cat comes back to life and he tries to convince his roomate that the formula really works.. even on humans. So they try it with humans in the lab and it works. It was really funny, much more funny than scary, like the cat they bring back to life looks like a stuffed animal and the dad in the straight jacket. It was pretty good. This DVD comes with a little needle with that potion stuff in it.
