VHS Movie Reviews of Power Flexibility Yoga for Beginners with Rodney Yee (Living Yoga)Movie Review: Give It Time Summary: 5 StarsThe first time I did this tape, I felt the same as several of the other reviewers...this is not for beginners! I am not at all flexible and have never done yoga before but I have stuck with this and another of Rodney Yee's tapes for 4 weeks now and they are now a joy to do. I still cannot mold myself into the poses as beautifully as he has, but my flexibility has increased tremendously and the workout becomes easier and easier each time I do it. I no longer am watching the video out of the corner of my eye, but am concentrating on each move and my breathing. The result is increased flexibility and a more relaxed me. My advice is to stick with the program a few weeks and you will be very pleased. If he made the routine any simpler the video would not be useful to you after only a week or two. Instead you have a program that will challenge you for several months.
Movie Review: Definitely Not For Beginners Summary: 2 StarsI'm very disappointed in this video. It's very fast moving (I guess that's what "power" means) and in the second half of the video, the postures are so advanced (hopping from one pose to another, positioning your legs OVER your shoulders from behind and balancing your entire weight on your hands). I think Rodney Yee has lost track of what is a "beginners" tape (somebody get this man a dictionary). You either have to be extremely advanced to complete this and do all the poses -- or else you have to be double jointed! Anybody want to buy my tape -- cheap???
Movie Review: I liked it but.... Summary: 3 StarsThis is not for beginners... although he says at the beginning to use variations he gives no variations(or explanations) on any of the poses throughout the video. It moves so quickly from one pose to the next that unless you know what you are doing you are going to be thouroughly confused. I expected more from a workout the was supposed to be "for beginners".
Movie Review: If you're in decent shape already...you'll love this video! Summary: 5 StarsI'm in good shape and am pretty flexible. I wanted something that would stretch me out and relax me, while giving me a bit of a workout. This video does just that! I like to do it in the mornings to give me a jumpstart for my day. My only complaint is...I wish it were longer!
Movie Review: Beginners, don't give up. Summary: 5 StarsI found Rodney Yee's Power Yoga for Beginners frustrating the first time through, however, once I learned the routine I found it challenging, relaxing, and perfect for those mornings when I don't have a lot of time. The routine is only 25 minutes long and packed with all the right yoga moves.
