VHS Movie Reviews of Poltergeist Report

Movie Review: Pretty Good
Summary: 4 Stars

This movie is best seen if you've read the comics or seen the show. In my opinion, it's all right if you haven't had previous experience, but some disagree. The plot is okay, but the movie isn't really deep. It does have some cool fight scenes, and I think they make sense. Someone says there is little to no reason to fight. There seems to be to me. The demons of the Netherworld are getting out because the Spiritworld is messed up, and they're attacking people who are trying to prevent the restoration of the Netherworld (like the Hiromeshi gang). These people are in this situation because they are gifted and they want to save the world. This would all be clear to fans of Yuyu Hakusho, but I don't think that's really needed unless you need to understand all the little details of the movie. Koenma and Hiei are demons. Yusuke and Kuwabara are humans with spirit powers. This is more of a sequel kind of thing, like the Matrix. The Matrix doesn't explain the plot again in 2 and 3, this doesn't either. You can sort of figure it out, though. It is not recommended to watch any sequel without watching the original if you care about knowing all the plot. So this is great for fans, good for some who are unfamiliar. Rent it, or borrow it.
