Movie Review: great philosophical masterpiece
Summary: 5 Stars
There are timeless concepts expressed throughout this movie based on the Oscar Wilde novel. One must listen very carefully as a student to learn moral and intellectual wisdom that can be used to lead a virtuous life. Lord Henry Wotton in particular speaks quickly but divulges ideas which one may not agree with but which are indeed exceedingly thought provoking. The movie can be viewed on several levels; 1) as an enjoyable story based on a firm underlying concept 2) as a series of lessons on living a productive life and 3) as a well produced movie from the 1945 time period with terrific actors.
