Movie Review: Continuation of the Parker Family from A Christmas Story
Summary: 5 Stars
I saw this when it aired on The Disney Channel a couple times back in 1991. I thought it was just as funny as A Christmas Story. Since it was released onto VHS by Disney back in 1993, I'm certain that if there was a very big demand, which there might be, I think if Disney did release this onto DVD, it would be bought by the ones who remembered it and loved it. And would purchase it for the newer generation of families.
One funny part I remember were when the Parker family had a picnic and Randy wanted a PB&J sandwich and didn't like the sandwich his mom gave him to eat and threw it into the air and landed in the middle of the road, and a car ran over it. Another funny part I remember was when a bee got into their car they all ran far away from their car right after parking the car. Other the that I think this was a good family comedy.
In conclusion, as much as I did like "Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss" for what it was, I think that this movie, which is also written by Jean Shepherd, who wrote the book "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash" which was what A Christmas Story was based off of, should have it's spot on DVD along with many other movies (sometimes rare or obscured) owned by any movie studio that have yet to wait for their DVD releases.
