VHS Movie Reviews of Living Yoga - Back Care Yoga for Beginners

Movie Review: My favorite yoga video!
Summary: 5 Stars

This video has a series of gentle yoga positions (most done with a chair) to stretch and soften your back. At first I questioned the use of the chair; however I realized it helps to make the practice easier and the twists particularly effective.

I do this video 2 - 4 times a week and whenever my back feels tight. It has helped improve my back pain to the point that I have not had to take my prescription muscle relxers to get to sleep since I have started using this video.

Rodney Yee peppers the practice with reminders to elongate your spine, open your chest, drop your shoulders, and flex your feet. If you follow his directions and use this video consistently, you can gain the benefits of a pain-free back in no time.

Movie Review: Life changing!!
Summary: 5 Stars

For the past 2 months, I've been experiencing terrible back pain due to muscle spasms. I wasn't offered much help by any of the doctors that I saw, other to be put on muscle relaxers and pain killers, which made me feel even worse. I came across this tape by sheer accident while browsing at my local library. I decided to try it because I was in so much pain, I was willing to try anything!

I got home and did the 20 minutes of tape and was SHOCKED by the results! I literally felt better after 20 minutes of Yoga, than I had in months! I couldn't believe the difference in how I felt, I felt like my old self again.

I'm not much a Yoga person and I don't consider myself very flexible, but this tape WORKS! It's perfect for beginners who haven't done any kind of Yoga before, it's gentle enough to use if you are injured, and best of all, it's effective. I think one of the best parts of this video is that Rodney Yee focuses on strengthening your back and your spine, so that your back problems will go away naturally and you'll be less likely have them again over time.

I would highly recommend this video to anyone that is experiencing any type of lower back pain. I know I will be using this video for years to come!

Movie Review: A healthy, supple back
Summary: 4 Stars

In his 'back care yoga for beginners' tape, Rodney Yee has created a great beginner's workout that provides excellent therapy for those suffering from low back pain. Set along the ocean, the scenery provides an interesting backdrop as Yee leads viewers through poses designed to stretch and twist the muscles of the back, making it stronger and more supple. At 20-minutes, the tape is perfect for those days when you don't have much time to get in any exercise.

I have practiced yoga for several years, and have found this tape to be a useful edition, if a bit simple. It is not difficult, if you have taken yoga, to modify some of the poses to make them a bit more challenging if desired, while still following the flow of the tape.

Movie Review: Excellent for Back Care for Beginners
Summary: 4 Stars

All of his videos are Excellent Instruction and paced well for beginners. And Insightful! ENJOY!!

Movie Review: good, quick and basic for beginners
Summary: 4 Stars

I do yoga on a fairly regular basis and have found that it helps with my lower back problems. I bought this video for my dad but I was curious as to what poses it would recommend, so I tried it myself. It is a good series of poses, but for anyone who has more yoga experience this tape is probably too basic. Poses that are ordinarily done on the floor are here done with a chair, making them easier than they need to be for people who are relatively flexible and fit. In other words, it'll be perfect for my dad.
Note: It's true that this video calls for "props", but all you need is a chair and (if you don't own a yoga strap) a belt. Not a big deal.
