VHS Movie Reviews of Light Years [VHS]

Movie Review: Its better then Odin... but...
Summary: 2 Stars

Well ok..

I am sure the book was fascinating.
I was not entertained by this movie at all.
But it could have been alot worse.

For the late 1980s the animation is bad.

I'll be honest. What this movie needs is a remake.
With up to date animation like Titan AE or somthing.

That is all it really needs.
The animation is quite boring, and well all around its boring.

Its excitement failed to grab me.

Movie Review: Great Movie
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this movie about the consequences of genetic engineering and mutations. It is a great movie from the 70's era. I would definetely recommend it. Other great movies I recommend are Wizards, The Flight of the Dragons, The Last Unicorn, The Hobbit, Krull, and other such movies.

Movie Review: A Sci-Fi animation classic!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was really impressed by the artistic quality and engrossing fictional nature of film. A good movie to watch more than once.

Movie Review: Not your ususal "cartoon" fare...
Summary: 4 Stars

Imagine if "Yellow Submarine" was based on the works of Isaac Asimov instead of Beatles' music, and you'll have a pretty good idea of "Light Years" (both films have similar openings, stylistically, and both envision fantastic worlds that make use of the imaginative power of animation).

This film is not for everyone (it's a little on the cerebral side), but it's definitely an alternative to the Disney-clones and the ultraviolent manga (both of which are often good, but it's a pleasure to see something different).

"Light Years" features an interesting voice cast, terrific visuals (if somewhat limited animation at times), and intelligent plotting, with one of the great punch lines of all time from Christopher Plummer's character -- I won't spoil it here!

Movie Review: light years
Summary: 5 Stars

as far as science fiction movies go, it can't be topped. Between the animation which gave the director the freedom to portray the full image in which was intended to get across and the mind bending though of the movie, even 14 years later is on the top on my list.
