VHS Movie Reviews of Kiki's Delivery Service (Widescreen Edition) [VHS]Movie Review: Not what I expected Summary: 1 StarsAlthought the video was in good condition, it was in Japanese. I purchased the video for my three year old who saw clips of the "english" version on another movie. The description stated that Kirsten Dunst was doing the voice of Kiki so I assumed that meant I was getting the english version. I guess I can't expect the final product to be what it states when I only paid $1.84. I don't know if I would purchase something again as next time I may not get off so cheap.
Movie Review: Good but not great. Summary: 3 StarsThe movie was a decent movie, but I like the other ones from Hayao Miyazaki better. This one is pretty good for a younger audience and ok for an older one. I liked it, but not enough to put it in my collection at the moment. Maybe it will grow on me, only time will tell.
Movie Review: LOVE IT!! Summary: 5 StarsI never was into anime until I saw Spirited Away. The writer of that is also the writer/ director of Kiki's Delivery service. It is an awesome, clean Anime' for family enjoyment. My son love's it too. The creator really pays attention to detail it is amazing.
Movie Review: One of Ghibli's Best Summary: 4 StarsThis is one of Studio Ghibli's best films. American animation tends to be very pop-culture oriented and lacks some of the subtle ethical and moral resonance found in Hayao Miyazaki's films. I've watched all of these films numerous times and have even purchased them for my niece, who at age 5, is more enamored of this film than any others. She actually watched the entire film, laughed, and was even curious about some of the things in the film. I can't recommend all of Studio Ghibli's films any higher.
Movie Review: growing up Summary: 5 StarsThe animation 'Kiki' is a brilliant way to convey the essential challenge in becoming an individual, faced by each new generation in humanity, from pre-historic times to today's state-of-the-art globalizng. R Hyodo
