VHS Movie Reviews of Hear My Song [VHS]Movie Review: I'm ready for the Director's Cut of HEAR MY SONG! Summary: 5 StarsThis is one of my favorite movies. Ever. I reviewed this a couple of years ago here(WOW! Maltin Agrees With Me). I just went onto AmazonUK, & they have a Director's Cut of this! Of course, it's in PAL format, so we colonials are SOL. So, where is our Director's Cut? I'm ready to buy it right now, even though I've got 1 factory copy of this & 1 I spun off cable! Remember, you can never have too much of a great thing! (I subsequently found the UK director's cut on Ebay UK right before going to England on vacation. The video was waiting for me at my hotel in Bath. The deleted footage lasts about 3 minutes, & deals with Mickey & his Mum. It was not worth buying a new copy of the video for, but at least I've seen it. I think it was probably deleted due to it's not being a real "grabber".)
Movie Review: Terrific & Touching - The Music Is Good Too Summary: 5 StarsThis is a very touching story - as funny as it is sensually appealing. The cinematography and music make the whole experience completely enjoyable.
Movie Review: Sure now, you'll recognize that part of you that is, Irish. Summary: 5 StarsI can't stop talking with an Irish accent. I've just seen the movie and now I'm searching the web for a CD that will capture the adventure and beauty of this film. I knew a gifted man named Sullivan. When he sang in a tavern, the looks on the ladies faces were those seen in the film. Ah, the memories. I don't want to lose the way I feel now.
Movie Review: Aye, Begorrah...it'll bring a tear to your Eye Summary: 5 StarsThis sweet movie could melt a Heart of stone. I am compelled to add my own 5 stars to those who have spoken before me. As I'm writing this, I am "hearing" that song.... the little take off from the "Love me, Alfredo" theme from La Traviata.
Movie Review: THE BEST!!! Summary: 5 StarsWhat a gem! This is one of our very favorite movies. We're glad we own it, so we can either watch it whenever the mood strikes us or show it to friends. No one has ever heard of it, and it's always a wonderful surprise. The casting is terrific, as is the direction. Even the secondary characters are treasures. Fewer movies will make you smile as often and laugh uproariously at a few particular scenes -- the livestock auction, the well, and the dentistry, to name a few. An absolute must-have -- it's too hard to find in rental stores.
