Movie Review: Trigger Material - Truly mind-wrenching
Summary: 5 Stars
I watched this movie with about 20 other people on video crammed in a tiny building in a compound mock-up. The events of this movie are very possible! This movie depicts not only the issue of government subversion. It also depicts the long lasting psychological affects of childhood sexual abuse (by "MAN" a supposed ex-professor in service of the government), and dissociation (which can SAVE lives), among many other things. It confronts how these things can create a social outcast that if given the chance to speak their mind, the person could be misconstrued as anti-governmental in such a totalitarian state as depicted in this movie. The supposed book written tells of how a little girl locked in the closet by her mother dissociates into her own private world where the clothes are her friends, until her mother comes home to let her out. When the author known only as "AB234" is near finished with the book, the government who has been observing her and her private all along snatches her in the middle of the night - because such things do not mesh with the governmental overall message, and those who are emotionally frigid are seen as subversives as they do not conform to the supposed proper behavior types as they "withhold".
