VHS Movie Reviews of Braveheart (1995) (Spanish) [VHS]

Movie Review: AWSUM CLASSIC IN NEW SKIN!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

The movie first off is a classic...as anyone knows by now!!!

As for the BluRay "Sapphire Series"....hopefully they will re-release a Golden Plated edition or sumthin!!! like everyone else has kinda mentioned...not so hot upscaling effects on sum spots - but great graphics overall!!!! I have personally never seen the DVD Release, I only had seen it on TV unfortunately....so the BluRay looks Freagin' Sweet Man!!!!!

The $[...]thingy kinda a screwball operation...you havta save your receipts for current purchase and send in your PROOF of PURCHASES!! Well my Transformers, Gladiator, and Forest Gump must not have these PROOF of PURCAHSE tabs since they were all the Special Edition walmart bought ones or sumthin'!!! I cannot cut out any part of the papers inside the DVD Leaflets that shows a "proof of purchase" that I bought it, to prove to them I can get my [...]per BluRay back!!!! LAME!!!!

Movie Review: Exceptional Blu-ray
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a must have for any Blu-ray collector like myself. An awesome movie. Paramount has really done a phenomenal job with this transfer. Everything about the disc is top notch. One of the best looking (if not thee best) Blu-rays ive seen to date. If you have a lot of money invested into your home theater system, this is quite the demo disc!

Movie Review: I shall tell you of William Wallace
Summary: 5 Stars

Screen favorite Mel Gibson triumphs in front and behind the camera in the award-winning 1995 historical epic "Braveheart". In 13th century Scotland, hardworking William Wallace (Gibson) is more concerned in being a farmer and starting a family than standing to the oppressive rule of King Edward I (Patrick McGoohan). When his childhood sweetheart (Catherine McCormack) is brutally murdered as a warning against further uprisings, Wallace leads his countrymen to liberation, marking the forefront of the first war of Scottish Independence. "Braveheart" is a thrilling movie spectacle that ranks along side such grand historical epics like "Lawrence of Arabia" and "Spartacus". The film superbly combines elements of rousing action and moving drama. The battle scenes are impressive. Mel Gibson delivers a first-rate performance. The cast also includes Angus Macfadyen, Brendan Gleesan, Brian Cox and Sophie Marceau. "Braveheart" won five Academy Awards including best cinematography, best director and best picture.

"Braveheart" Sapphire Edition will surely be one of your favorite titles in your Blu-Ray collection. The award-winning film is presented in a fine 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen format. The picture quality isn't perfect bit it's certainly a noticeable upgrade over the DVD. The HD transfer boasts some pretty good detail in some key scenes. Its 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio offers great clarity and dynamic surround effects. Among special features, the Blu-Ray contains the same ones included in the 2-disc special edition DVD: an audio commentary track with director/actor Mel Gibson and two behind-the-scenes featurettes. The second disc has a 59-minute 3-part "Braveheart: A Look Back" documentary and an interactive map that allows the viewer to learn more about the famous battles depicted in the film. Overall, "Braveheart" Sapphire Edition scores an "A".

Movie Review: HD-Master is good but transfer to disc a failure!
Summary: 3 Stars

The process which Braveheart got for the blu ray release was very successful, the overall image looks stunning BUT in unfortunately more than less shots i noticed some serious pixelization issues probably due to some kind of interlaced-structure that i have no idea where it could have come from. That leads to a line-doubleing effect and thereby divides the image resolution by 2. Once i spotted the defect it was absolutely distracting because the edges of sharp objects are not clean but destroyed by a zic-zac effekt. It could have been so much better if that issue was not appearing that often. Its hard to see where the problem came from but i am sure it could have been avoided, looks more like a transfer screw-up. Sound is actually very nice with very fine bitrates for TRUE HD. I doubt that later this year FOX will do better for Europe. They will probably just take the same encode ... still a nice Blu Ray, but it could have been way better if people would pay attention while checking their discs. Let's wait for Forrest Gump. 2 screw-ups out of 3 for the saphire collection .. i have my doubts for the third tilte.

Movie Review: Extreme Violence
Summary: 1 Stars

Buyer beware: if you do not equate "entertainment" with graphic violence, you will not enjoy this movie. Guard your eyes, for they are the window of your heart.
