Movie Review: [3.5] not bad for a lorenzo lamas film
Summary: 3 Stars

Lorenzo is one of my least favorite martial arts actors. His performances are typically wooden, and his athletic skills are not very memorable. This movie, however, has more to offer thus making it a more enjoyable film. The suspense and action are fine, and Matthias Hues is always an added enjoyment as the "calm & cool, yet unpredictable" villain role that he adds to most of his performances. There are some downsides, and that includes a lousy finale fight scene and some downtime in the plot.

The first half of Bounty Tracker actually appealed to me the most. Lorenzo Lamas is established as "the bounty tracker" after entering an all-black club, dressed as a nerdy college professor, to eventually surprise his target inside. The bad guys entrance in the film is pretty explosive too, taking out a small corporation of people using silencers - adding to the suspense. While attempting to protect the one survivor - the brother to the Lorenzo Lamas character - the bad guys come for round two and manage to make this kill, sending Lamas out for revenge.

The gun scenes are somewhat frightening, with the use of silencers, and the fights (though not lengthy) are staged somewhat well. There is a dojo fight scene that is one of the best in the film. However, the fighting seemed to have gotten lazy later on, and the finale between Lorenzo Lamas and Matthias Hues was rushed and very unoriginal and uninspiring, lasting under two minutes. And it is a short 2 minutes that Hues gets beaten up too easily for a villain his size.

Its an ok movie overall, and rather decent for a Lorenzo Lamas film. Matthias Hues is fun to watch, and there is some good suspense, otherwise, that's about it.
