Movie Review: Come on; admit it. You love the stuff yourself!
Summary: 4 Stars
Actually, knowing the views of some of
the PBS crowd, harmless videos like this
almost want to make me contribute, again.
But then they took Red Green off in my area!
Seriously, one of the best programs they did
in the last few years. Really shows all the
faucets of this industry. I have been to the
places in here in VA and out in Oah'u, Hawai'i!

Everybody loves ice cream. It's cool, sweet and delicious. It's also the tantalizing topic of this happy documentary program that takes viewers to ice cream places across America from Vermont to Hawaii, highlighting outstanding places to get a cone or a bowl. An Ice Cream Show features mostly small ice cream lovers - from makers and eaters to collectors and cone-makers.Here's the scoop: From big dippers (a pre-sellout Ben & Jerry's) to little dippers (Carl's in Fredericksburg, Virginia), this delectable documentary tours the country to talk to people who make, sell, scoop, and study ice cream. An Ice?Cream Show visits such local institutions as Bassett's in Philadelphia and Matsumoto's in Haleiwa, Hawaii, presents the history of Howard Johnson's, and studies the science of ice cream at Penn State University. It also gets good dish from soda jerks who reveal that "Check the vanilla" is store code for "A pretty girl just came in." Viewers also meet such entrepreneurs as Robin Rose, who started a traffic school for chocoholics in Los Angeles, and browse among vintage ice cream collectibles.
We all scream for ice cream, America's favorite frozen dessert. An Ice?Cream Show is as reassuring and satisfying as a dish of French Vanilla.
